Avon has Benefits

Posted on 30th January 2012 in Avon as a Business

Avon has so much more to offer than just cosmetics… Did you know we offer Health Benefits?

What is Avon’s benefits package?

Avon offers a variety of very competitive health insurance plan through PRO Insurance Managers.   These plans include PPO, HAS, Short Term Medical, Medicare Advantage Program, and more…

“We are now saving half of what we would have paid through our former plan.  After seeing our premium increase every six months, we changed to broader coverage plans offered by PRO and were able to go from $700 a month to $368, a savings of $4,000 a year for our family of 4!”
Keith & Kim Doyle

One of the most important things to consider when looking at careers is the availability of affordable health insurance.  Even with a good plan, if you leave your job you have the right to continue your coverage but you must pay the entire premium plus 2%; according to USA Today , “Average COBRA premiums exceed $400 a month for individuals, and more than $1,000 a month for families.”   Wouldn’t it be nice to own your coverage?  With Avon’s bargaining strength you can be sure to get the best value, often better than typical employer supported coverage.

Looking to save for retirement?  The Avon Representative Savings Plan is set up to take advantage of pre-tax savings like a 401K. After 6 campaigns a representative may add up to 25% of income into this account and have investments managed for only $20/year.

If this is something that you could benefit from… Please let me know… get covered today! Build a business and secure your family.

Welcome to our site!

Posted on 1st November 2011 in General

I am sitting here listening to my husband talk about being tired while sticking my books into a plastic “What’s New” bag for my customer tomorrow! (He is fantastic and much appreciated)

Mark  has built this site (he is the AdminGuy) for me so I can work my Avon Business full time. Hopefully in the next few months I can quit my day job and replace that income and then some with Avon.

We are always looking for energetic, fun loving people to join our team.

I have a busy week ahead. I am adding 4 new Reps into my downline and a sales meeting tomorrow night. No dinner with the family until Friday.

Why do i do it?! I see a bigger and better future ahead. So, with the dreams I have, I need to lay the foundation down. That takes hard work and dedication.

My family… above all else… comes first. So, in order to give them the life Mark and I envisioned… We need to work it like a job and not a hobby.

SO, with that said… I need to get some sleep and rest up for a long day ahead.

I will write again, even if it a short hello soon!

Have  great Avon day!

Launch has Arrived, Inventory still needs work

Posted on 31st October 2011 in Avon as a Business, ForAnewU Exclusive, General

Well, it’s been an interesting month of getting the new Avon business rolling.  With several people already joining and more coming this week life has been extremely busy apart from the website.  Getting the final touches done has been the easy task to put off.  Now it’s crunch time.  I’m pleased to announce that the PayPal function works perfectly and the security certificate is working as expected.  All test transactions worked without fail.

The candle making has been a nice success. The first batch of cinnamon-apple have an excellent throw and the wooden wick offers a pleasant quiet crackle as it burns.  Still need pictures to make it available.

workin on it…

Child Themes

Posted on 6th October 2011 in General

Child themes in WordPress are great… but it seems WordPress and Google Chrome aren’t on the same page when it comes to hooks.

All I really wanted to do was change the footer a little and a simple child theme is always the best way to preserve changes to the theme files in case of an update. I could at the same time make some adjustments to the background, or at least set the structure in place for it. Alas, I lost all formatting and it looked like a bad wiki.

I got my theme figured out, had to paste in the whole css file into the child theme but whatever.. Now to look at the forum I’m trying to get installed. Last one didn’t work out so well.

Forms Forms Forms

Posted on 5th October 2011 in General

Creating a form that makes it easier for people to reach you while protecting both them and yourself from the sharks out there trying to steal email addresses and anything else they can get is a lot more involved than I had given credit.  I’ve long had some nice php scripts that let me put forms on a website but as the languages have evolved, my forms have become out of date.  So just find another… right?

Not so easy.

I know what I need to do but that form just hasn’t been posted as a free script yet.  Well, there is one but it’s a free version and not documented very well since they also offer a paid form which is where they offer help.  Confusing on purpose?  Who knows, it would probably work fine if I wasn’t trying to do so much extra with it. Writing a whole new script will take days I just don’t have right now, so here is my quick solution:  The Blog of course.  WordPress does a great job of offering nice forms with good security.  I lose some of my continuity of design but I can work on that later.  For now, I’ve got a form that works and is secure.

Thanksgiving!

Posted on 2nd October 2011 in General

Choosing a Thanksgiving theme or a Christmas theme is tough. Both holidays are important to me and going straight to Christmas seems to diminish the importance of Thanksgiving. Of course this site is an online store and it’s not like Christmas shopping season isn’t underway.

Well, for me I need to keep Thanksgiving in the mix. I’ll look for a countdown timer to keep Christmas in mind but we need priorities.  Thanksgiving comes first, then Christmas.

Holloween?  It’s fun but not exactly worth celebrating as a holiday.

Grand Almost Opening!

Posted on 1st October 2011 in General

Only 5 days to pre-launch of our first fully functional online store.  Still so much to do like get this blog designed and linked properly.  And not to forget loading in all the products into the database.

Pre-Launch (not to be confused with free-lunch as some have done) should work rather smooth with only minor tweaks in the site for the grand opening on November 1.  Who knew it would take so long to put something like this together?
